Have the closest thing 3DTuning had to my truck. BTW, thats what I wanna do to my truck eventually. Or at least something like that. A modest drop for handling only, and bigger wheels. Something like a 16 or a 17 (I have 14s on there now). Oh and a Military green plastidip that I may eventually take off.

You're not going far with those tires, Denver.

It was either that or the raptor. Sadly, 3Dtuning has no ranger

Not necessarily that, but my stock suspension has gotta go. It goes over bumps like a cruise ship in a thunderstorm

Ah gotcha, do they even make Ranger stuff like that?

Any idea on how good your shocks and struts are? Mine are blown with 100K miles. That could help. I hope to open new ones in a few hours!

Tires can make an enormous difference with ride to.

Well All I'd do is a suspension drop, slightly larger wheels and plastidip so the topper and the truck would match. So yes

Mine are fine, but my control arms and tie rods are on their way out. The whole front suspension has got to go. In the rear I just have leaf springs, those have to go on principle alone

I would focus on getting the stuff that needs to be fixed (Like the tie rods) first so you know something won't fail on you down the road. It might not hurt to have a mechanic inspect it so you know what's wrong. Just be prepared for the worst.

Ive been under my truck. Their rusty but its not structural. They have a good year or 2 left. Ive seen rustier ranger control arms, these arent bad. It just goes in and out of alignment sometimes, nothing I cant handle. I wanna lower the whole thing because the front suspension was designed by an idiot. So If Im gonna spend money on the suspension, I might as well upgrade. But I need the cash first. Even a cheapo 800 dollar lowering kit would be better than the stock setup.

The reason I ask is my brother is heading up the CU bike program this year. If you had anything done through that office (Really its a trailer of sorts) then you probably met him

Looks good. Unfortunately they only have my car in hatchback format and not as a wagon but I'd like to do some slight mods to mine.

Kinja'd!!!

Blacked out grille surround, tinted windows, wheels from the Laurent & Klement and lowered ever so slightly.

That's been my thinking as well, as I replace stuff I should upgrade it to something better. But wouldn't lowering worsen your ride? They typically do on cars, no idea on trucks.

Im gonna try and keep my mods functional and not for looks. I wanna lower it because of how the front suspension hooks in. It will handle better with less ground clearance, but I only wanna do a modest drop, like to sedan height at the lowest. The bigger wheels because 14" wheels in snow is just unsafe. I wanna plastidip it because it bugs me that my topper doesnt match my truck perfectly

Kinja'd!!! Denver Is Stuck In The 90s > 03mach1 - Now has a Fiesta ST

Kinja'd!!!0

Well my front springs dont go all the way to the fender so at highway speeds the whole front of the truck vibrates because of a turbulent air effect heppening in the fender wells. If I have less ground clearance, that shouldnt happen on the highway

Ye', I don't want to do anything that isn't factory other than lowering it about 10mm and changing the grille which is available from superskoda.com

http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-I…

Essentially personalising it slightly but I don't think I will with this one but the next I want to.

I can't think of any functional mods I want as the car already does everything I want it to other than a dashcam.

Well my truck is old enough that it needs some aftermarket stuff just to bring it up to today's spec. Maybe I can snag some 2011 ranger wheels, if not Im just doing bargain basement steelies with the OEM centercaps

Well that's interesting, didn't know that. Just make sure you do your research. You don't want to spend lots of money on a kit for it to be a bad one. How much of a drop do you think you need?

Kinja'd!!! Denver Is Stuck In The 90s > 03mach1 - Now has a Fiesta ST
12/25/2014 at 02:18

Kinja'd!!!1

Ya, Ill definitely do my research. I dont think I'd need more than a 2 or 3 inch drop, if that. Im not slamming this thing, just enough of a drop for it to help at high speeds. I already have a front lower spoiler, all I need is for it to do what it was designed to do. It doesnt do diddly squat at this ride height.

My girl is nearly two year old so I'm a little hesitant to doing anything that will detract it from being the great car it is.

Steelies and centre caps would look pretty good on yours I reckon. You know clean and understated looking but purposeful.

Ya Im thinking Ill do steelies. Theyre cheaper and they would probably look better especially with these centercaps:
